Join us in a Green Socks KAL to welcome spring and celebrate Kate's favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day! You have until March 31 to complete your socks, and post a photo to the Knit Together Flickr Group; be sure to tag your photo as "greensocks." Leave us a comment to let us know you're participating, all your project details (and the link to your Ravelry project) and registered users will be entered in the contest to win a yummy skein of Dream in Color Smooshy!

Are we supposed to knit the BFF socks, or *any* green socks, or what?  Need more details!  Thanks, and keep on rockin'!   ~Amy

You can knit any socks just so long as they are green!! :)

I am on a crazy motherlove mission to knit socks for my son who will start college this fall. I am knitting 7 pairs of cold weather(wool/nylon) and 7 pairs of warm weather(bamboo blend or tofutsie) for his cross country and track distance running for which he has a scholarship at a nearby Christian college. He plans to go into the missionary field. This is a long explanation to ask if it's okay to knit with a mostly green striping Step yarn I planned to use anyway since I am swamped with sock knitting and have decided not to buy more sock yarn until I finish what I have planned for him. I started knitting socks for his running about 5 years ago and he swears they are better than high tech store bought socks. He must know what he's doing since he finished fourth in New York state this year and won sectionals. I picked the 7 and 7 pairs since it should give him a week at a time of clean socks and he'll only be 30 minutes away so he can do laundry at home. Is this where we register or ravelry or flickr? maryalma on ravelry

Well, my socks aren't done yet, because I have a short attention span. But I will finish them by the end of the month, I'm promising myself! I have a pic of them on ravelry under the name "hikergirl." Do you want me to place a pic here too? Or will that info suffice? Heather

I know Kate set up a Flickr group for Knit Together, where you can post your photos. Just make sure you tag them with greensocks. It will be easier for us to find them all in one place rather than having to go out and search for all the entries. I'd hate for us to miss a pair! (Maybe Kate can post instructions for adding your photos to the group.)

I'm really new to all of this. Flikr and blogs and all... did you all get to see my socks? Are they ok? They have the blue in them. They are the bug socks by Rapid River. It was my first time doing a pattern and I really liked it. I am glad to have the socks so I'm glad you did this.

I am so close to being done with my socks but I will not make it in time to finish for the contest.  Oh well maybe next time.
